Her alternative darkroom photographic practice seeks to capture an event on the boundary of the visible and the invisible. She draws inspiration from Karen Barad’s theory of 'space-time-mattering', which posits that every event is an infinite sum of previous happenings, impacting all subsequent events (Barad, 2017). Through water and light, elements that symbolise the fundamental aspects of existence, I create visual metaphors for energy transfer, evoking themes of the universe, cosmos, and nature. The works are made using the photogram technique, which relies on direct exposure to light from a Polaroid camera flash, and emphasises the immediacy of the moment, embedding the physical and temporal trace of the flash within the fluid medium of water. The resulting images reveal the dynamic and transient nature of matter, reflecting the constant state of becoming where past, present, and future continuously reconfigure and influence one another.
